Marketing for Writers - Create a Facebook Group Campaign

by Susan U. Neal RN, MBA, MHS @SusanNealYoga

Have you created a Facebook group yet for your readers? I discussed this in the blog, Connect With Readers Through Closed Facebook Groups. My Facebook group, 7 Steps to Get Off Sugar, Carbs, and Gluten, has grown to 1500 members in the past two years. These people are my ideal readers who continue to purchase my books, courses, and digital products.

Are There Places I Should Auto-Feed My Blog Posts?

by Edie Melson @EdieMelson

Actually there are.

And after teaching at a conference recently I discovered that a lot of bloggers are unaware of this audience-building option. So today I’m going to share some places where auto-sharing your blog posts are a good idea and some that are a less than helpful place to share.

Creating Community with Writers & Readers

by Ane Mulligan @AneMulligan

A few years ago, I took a marketing course at a writers conference. Presented by three multi-published Southern authors, Janice ThompsonKathleen Y'Barbo, and Anita Higman, the class taught me a lot about marketing. But the one idea that really struck a chord within me was creating a tribe. The people in a writer's tribe are those who love their stories and help promote their work.

Okay, but the conference took place less than two weeks after the release of my debut novel, Chapel Springs Revival, so while I came home with terrific ideas, I wasn't ready to put any in place. I mean, doesn't one actually need fans to have a tribe?

5 Tips for Collecting New Readers and Connections

by Katy Kauffman @KatyKauffman28

A tiny enchanted forest greets me each morning. My mini winter wonderland doesn’t exist in my backyard, but on my great-grandmother’s antique pine dresser. Three white trees sit, not on snow, but on a sage green doily, and send out silver glints of light that catch my eye. The cheval mirror reflects other treasures on my dresser—ivory dogwoods, red velvet flowers lined with glitter, and a “Cinderella sleigh” as I call it, pulled by two silver-tipped reindeer that anxiously wait to take a princess to a ball.

Marketing for Writers—How to Learn from the Masters

by Cynthia Owens @EfficiencyAdict

Art students learn a great deal by studying and duplicating the works of celebrated artists. In class, students are encouraged to learn the techniques of renown creators, mimic their style, and even reproduce their famous works. However, the ultimate goal is not to become a devotee of a particular artist. It’s to tap into the skillsets and vision that made their art exceptional, then use these skills to make new, original creations.

These same methods can be used by writers to learn marketing. We can find people who are exceptional at marketing. Study their techniques. Practice mimicking their systems—and then create our own.

When Marketing Leads to Ministry

by Lori Roeleveld @LoriSRoeleveld

When I began this writing adventure, I had an attitude about marketing and sales. You see, I wasn’t going to concern myself with such worldly ideas, because, like The Blues Brothers, I was on a mission for God. I may or may not have harbored some unkind and judgmental thoughts about people who invested significant energy discussing branding, platform building, and target audiences. I was simply going to write and trust God to be my marketer. Boom. Mic drop. Thank you, very much.

by Cyle Young @CyleYoung

Amazon Marketing Services (AMS) allows you to advertise your book utilizing a targeted keyword strategy.

But first, you must answer two important questions.
  • What type of ads do I run?
  • Where do I find the keywords to use?
