A Recap of the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference Through Memes

by Edie Melson @EdieMelson

As most of you know, I've spent the past week as Director of the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference. It was an amazing week—full of inspiration and encouragement. Some of the highlights came from our keynote speakers. These are memes I created during their keynotes. It thought it would give you a glimpse of what we experienced.

"Celebrate your place in the story." ~Steven James

"Embrace the changes in publishing and put into practice the things that are working." ~DiAnn Mills

"The odds are always in God's favor." ~James Watkins

"If we're not growing as writers, we're dead." ~Eva Marie Everson

The pearl starts as the irritant. What irritates you to write? ~Jane Jenkins Herlong

"Creativity begins with the creator." ~Alton Gansky

    1. For some reason my reply ended up at the bottom of these comments. But yes, absolutely you can share them! Just copy and paste the images onto your computer and share them individually, if you'd like!

    1. It was an amazing! Every single keynoter knocked it out of the park. Steven James started us with a bang on Sunday night - I didn't think to make memes until Monday morning. I feel bad about that because he was OUTSTANDING!

  7. What a great legacy Alton left as the outgoing director. I can't wait to see who you and DiAnn will build on that. I KNOW it's going to be absolutely fantastic!! I'm SO bummed I missed it this year. It's becoming one of the premiere conferences!

  8. I love this Edie! I have these powerful words as notes but it's great to see them as memes. And I have several powerful quotes from Steven James. If Mary has pictures and you decide to create a meme to share on social media separate from this post. :-) My favorite, "Celebrate your place in the story." I used this one on my Thursday blog post. Thanks for a great week, Edie! You did a wonderful job as director! To God be the glory for the great things He has done.

  12. Edie, sounds like it was a wonderful conference. Knew it would be with you directing. Sorry I couldn't make it this year, but I had your back, spiritual daughter! Hugs, Elva Cobb Martin, Pres. ACFW-SC www.elvamartin.com

  13. Edie, I missed being there, but I prayed for you all every day, and followed along on social media (including watching the periscope feed the night of the banquet). I felt like I was there with you all. You do such a great job at bringing people together and challenging us to be all that God designed us to be. I hope to be there next year! Thanks for all you do!

  20. One of my after-conference challenges is to learn to create and apply memes--thanks for both a welcome set of memories from these speakers, and another illustration of how great memes can be in getting a message highlighted.
