Writing, it's a mind game so much of the time. How do you persevere when your mind won't cooperate?

I have found that switching between genres helps. I participated in Camp Nano this summer and started out working on my fiction novel. When I teached a point of no forward progress, I switched to my non-fiction book. Sometimes writing a blog post helps too; it's short and I can write, edit and publish it all in one sitting.
ReplyDeleteMy mind is scattered (squirrel) I now have a daily schedule M-F that I stick to. I don't over-schedule myself. I set M, W, and F to write my books ( I can only commit 2 hours per day) . T & TH for blog, article writing, query letters and seeking Best Selling Authors for Almost an Author. If I have an appointment during the week I make up that work on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteThis blog has helped me to do this. Thank you so much.
Nailed it, Edie. How many writers have we watched become successful because they just kept going through all the bad first attempts? I've lost count.
