Thursday Review—Some of My Favorite Places on the Web

I get a lot of questions from writers about which blogs have consistent, valuable information. There are lots of them out there, but which ones are most valuable depends on what kind of writing you do.

I'm going to go ahead and apologize in advance—I'm sure I've left off some and I'm truly sorry. Also, the sites are NOT in order of importance or value.

For Freelance Writing and Social Media, I read one group of blogs. These include:
Make a Living Writing from Carol Tice
CopyBlogger from Brian Clark
ProBlogger from Darren Rowse
Allume, a blog from a blogging conference
Men With Pens from from James Chartrand
Mashable  (This is an industry site for social media and digital tech)

General Writing and Industry Blogs:
Novel Rocket from Gina Holmes
My Book Therapy from Susan May Warren
The ACFW Blog
The Blue Ridge Blog from Alton Gansky & Edie Melson
Blog from Literary Agent, Rachelle Gardner
Blog from Literary Agent,Steve Laube
Blog from Literary Agent, Chip MacGregor
Writability from Ava Jae
Aliventures from Ali Luke
Kristin Lamb’s Blog

For Readers and Writers
The Vessel Project from Keiki Hendrix

For Daily Devotions
Christian Devotions from Cindy Sproles and Eddie Jones

Now I’d love to know the sites you find valuable. Leave a comment below and share your finds with us!

And as always, don’t forget to join the conversation,
Blessings,
Edie

  2. I am looking forward to the weekend so I can look at these a little closer. A couple I like are Jane Friedman's - http://janefriedman.com/blog/ and a great one for adult and TEEN writers is http://randomwritingrants.com/, by Michelle Weidenbenner.

Thank you for putting a blog reading list for the weekend.

    yours :),
    Writer Unboxed http://writerunboxed.com/
    Larry Brooks http://storyfix.com/

These are primarily writer focus. I do visit some other health and personal blogs just for fun. Like: http://gingercalem.wordpress.com/ Ginger writes a Wednesday blog about fitness for writers that is great.

  10. I follow and enjoy most of the blogs you mentioned, Edie, and some of the ones mentioned by others in the comments. Jeff Goins is one of my particular favorites. One of the most useful blogs I follow is Michael Hyatt's (www.michaelhyatt.com). His primary focus is "intentional leadership," but he blogs on a variety of topics useful to writers, from productivity/technology recommendations to, of course, platform building.

Thank you for starting this conversation!
