Write Anyway: Obedience in the Quiet Seasons

by Kennita (Kay) Williams

“Then the Lord replied: ‘Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.’” – Habakkuk 2:2 (NIV)

There is a sacred hush that sometimes falls over the writing life. Not writer’s block—but holy silence. The kind where you have shown up, pen in hand or cursor blinking, heart wide open… and nothing comes. You begin to wonder: “God, are You still calling me to this?”

You are not alone.

Spring Forward with Your Writing: It’s Time to Move in What God Has Planted

by Kennita (Kay) Williams

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)

Spring is a season of awakening. What once looked lifeless begins to bloom. Hidden things rise. Seeds break through the soil, unapologetic and vibrant. Spring reminds us that delay is not denial—it’s preparation. And for writers and Christian communicators, this season invites a sacred momentum: It’s time to spring forward.

Too often, we treat our writing call like winter—quiet, buried, paused. We sit on the idea. We hesitate to send the email. We revisit the manuscript but let self-doubt talk us out of finishing the book. Meanwhile, the message God placed in us waits for our obedience, not our perfection.

March Forward With Your Writing: No More Marking Time

by Kennita (Kay) Williams

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”

As writers and Christian communicators, we have a holy assignment. We are not simply putting words on paper or speaking into the air—we are stewards of messages that God has entrusted to us. Whether we write books, devotionals, sermons, blog posts, or social media captions, our words have the power to bring life, encouragement, and direction to those who read or hear them.

Yet, how often do we delay? How often do we hesitate, second-guess, or allow distractions to steal the time God has given us? We talk about writing but don’t write. We plan to create but never create. We have ideas, but they remain trapped in journals or floating in our minds rather than reaching the people who need them.

Finish the Year Strong: A Writer’s Journey of Faith and Purpose

by Kennita (Kay) Williams

As the year draws to a close, many of us writers find ourselves reflecting on unfinished projects, unmet goals, and dreams that feel distant. But take heart—God is still at work in your life and in your writing. Philippians 1:6 reminds us:

“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (NIV).

Even if this year has not gone as planned, know that God’s timing is perfect. He finishes what He starts.

Embracing Gratitude in our Writing During Life’s Surprises

by Kennita "Kay" Williams

Life often leads us down unanticipated paths, filling our journeys with unexpected changes that can leave us anxious or discouraged. During these moments, the challenge to “give thanks in all things” can feel daunting. Yet, by trusting in God’s plan, even when life takes unforeseen turns, we can find purpose, peace, and joy amidst uncertainty. Ephesians 5:20 encourages us: “…giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ…” Through gratitude and faith, we allow God to transform the unexpected into blessings that help us grow.

Writers Do Not Give Up—Your Words Inspire Others
by Kennita "Kay" Williams

Writing can sometimes feel like a solitary and challenging journey. There are moments when the words flow, and then there are seasons when every sentence feels like a struggle. In these times, doubt can creep in, making you wonder if your work has any real value or impact. But remember, as a writer, you hold a gift. Your words have the power to inspire, heal, and encourage others in ways you may never fully understand.

When you feel discouraged, know this truth: you are called to write. Your words matter, and they can impact on the lives of others far beyond what you may ever see.
