Thank you, Edie! Your meme is beautiful. By “watermark” do you mean your copyright notice? Usually, a watermark is hidden and invisible unless one knows where to find it. I place a copyright notice on my memes. Is this not sufficient? Thanks for your help. :)
ReplyDeleteMaryAnn, you're right, the dictionary term for paper is more of an "impression" instead of an actual mark. However it's common to use the term with a different connotation when referring to photographs. A watermark on images is never hidden. (If you look on sites like Shutterstock, you'll notice their images have a very large watermark). For private photographers, it needs to be prominent enough that someone seeing it can tell it's not a copyright free image. And so that those who view it can follow the notice back to our websites if they want to see more. It can be a copyright notice. And yes, a copyright notice is sufficient on memes. Some photographers have a logo and use those for the watermark. Sorry for the confusion. Blessings, E
ReplyDeleteThanks, Edie. I learned something new today. :) Blessings to you!
