One thing I've learned over the years is this. The greatest growth of my faith takes place during the darkest storms. How about you?

I have a little jar in which I keep stones (flat river rocks). On each rock is a date and a word about what God and done in my life. The late Diann Hunt showed them to me. Called an Ebenezer, where we can chronicle the Lord's blessings. When I look at the stones, I'm reminded of all He has done for me, and my faith is strengthened.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. I do a teaching called "Raise my Ebenezer" God's help in times of trouble. I may do this also. Thank you for sharing.
DeleteAne, I love this! Thank you so much for sharing!
DeleteSo true, Edie, My most difficult season so far in my life has just passed. I won't go into all the details. I would not trade the faith lessons for anything. I do believe we are going to get our faith tested even more now with the Courts decision to legalize gay marriage. I was tested just this morning. I think of Moses when he addressed the Israelites “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today." Exodus 14:13

DeleteOver a decade ago, I was told I had a malignant cyst on my ovary and that I needed a total hysterectomy and chemotherapy and that if all went well, I might have another five years. I chose to stand AGAINST that cyst in Jesus' Name and stand ON the promises of God. It's a long story, but the bottom line is that the cyst gloriously disappeared! There was no surgery or chemo. I have all my body parts and no cancer. It was an intense time and a process that I wouldn't want to repeat for a million bucks. On the other hand, the lessons that I learned and the precious intimacy that I enjoyed with the Holy Spirit are something that I wouldn't trade for anything. A well body is great, but the spiritual riches I walked away with are the truly priceless treasure.
ReplyDeleteJune, we serve a GREAT God. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Blessings, E
DeleteCan anyone tell me how I get a picture next to my name instead of the Blogger (? I think) icon. I had to sign up for a gmail account in order to post here, and it is all brand new to me. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteJune, click on your Google account and it will bring up a page where you can add a photo to your profile. Blessings, E
