Social Media Image—What Will You Risk?

Following one's dream is a daunting proposition.

Today I'd like to challenge each of you who read this, to share the dream of your heart and if you're ready to risk it all to reach it.

"But he who dares not grasp the thorn, should never crave the rose." -Emily Bronte
I think it's only fair that I go first. I shouldn't ask anyone to do something I'm not willing to do. The dream of my heart is to write and see published, the books God has put inside me.

Who's willing to go next?

I also invite you to use this image any way you like online. Post it to your blog, share it on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, anywhere you'd like. All I ask is that you keep it intact, with my website watermark visible.

Don't forget to join the conversation!
Blessings,

  1. Edie, thanks for this opportunity to hold ourselves accountable for our dreams. I've wanted to write and see my stories published for so long now that I'm uncertain if the desire spans the majority of my lifetime or the minority. However, what I believe I'm finally "getting" is the acceptance that He will have my work published where He wants and He will have particular readers flip the pages and all for a reason… when He wants.

  2. While I'm thinking of it… any chance of you blogging a how-to segment on putting our names on quotes like you did above on the Bronte quote? Or have you already and I missed it? Thanks.

    1. Elaine, those pictures with words are also called Memes, Jess Keller did a post on how to make them a couple of weeks ago. Here's the link: http://thewriteconversation.blogspot.com/2014/06/indie-tuesdaycreate-your-own-shareable.html . I've also done one quite a while back: http://thewriteconversation.blogspot.com/2013/07/business-basics-for-todays.html . It's hard to keep up when I post something new everyday - at least it is for me! Blessings, E

    2. Edie, Thanks for the picture. I have always wanted to write but never knew that I was being asked to write. I was not more than a journal writer two years ago. Look at what God has done for me. When I find a dry day, I give it to him and always visit your blog. Love ya. Beth

    1. Jennifer, that's an amazing, scary dream and I think you've just shown us how that starts! I know in all that I've read of yours, you keep that in front of your mind when you write. Thanks so much for taking the challenge, Blessings, E

  4. The dream of my heart is to be obedient to His call. This season in my life, His call is to write stories that lift up people, offer hope, and entertain.

  5. I would echo what Henry has shared, but also the dream is to encourage people to go beyond merely the outward show of Christianity. People must be God's own possesion with their whole being. It is my goal to show the way to the Father, as well as encourage everyone to not just start on that path, but to finish it as well.

  6. My dream is to share my personal story through my writing. I want to show people that you can never outrun God, His love never fails, and He will always be waiting with open arms to take you back! Putting a piece of me out there is very difficult. Thank you for the reminder that with great risk, there comes great reward.
