Today I'm giving Kirk another day off, the play catch-up with his own engineering work.
Truthfully it couldn't have come at a better time. Right now I'm in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina at the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference.
As most of you know, I'm the Co to Director to Alton Gansky. He's the HMOC (head man on campus) this week. Tonight's award banquet is the culmination of a week of connecting with others in the industry and concentrating on going deeper into the craft of writing.
At BRMCWC we have three contests:
The Contest for Unpublished Writers: This is for writers who are unpublished in their specific category. The categories range from devotions to blog posts, flash fiction to Bible studies. There's literally something for everyone here.
The Director's Choice: This is for BRMCWC attendees who have a published book. This year Al will be giving awards to his pick of best fiction and non-fiction books.
The Selah: This is an industry-wide contest for any author who has published a book in the previous year. There is NO restriction on the publisher—we accept self, indie and traditionally published submissions.
Tonight, thanks to the generosity of Crossbookswww.crossbooks.com/blueridge and LifeWay/Ridgecrest the awards will be streamed live over the Internet. All you need to do is visit:

You can also follow along on Twitter by following the hashtag: #BRMCWC
(Not sure how to do this? Just do a search on Twitter for #BRMCWC and all the tweets will magically appear)
You can also visit our Facebook page for the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference and follow as the winners are announced there as well.
Our contest director, Eva Marie Everson, has been hard at work compiling the results and tonight we'll find out the winners. But in the meantime, enjoy a sneak peak at the finalists for the Selah:
