Last week I also
began a series on the Business Side of Writing, Part One. Today I’m going to continue that series
and put up two posts. The Business Side of Writing, Part 2 will show up later
this afternoon, and you’ll get notice in your inbox if you’ve signed up for
email updates.
Last month I continued
my end of the month post listing all the crazy special days in the coming month. Today I’m going to continue with the
upcoming crazy and normal holidays in the month of May.
If you missed
my last post, here's a link to the April Holidays, Special Days & DownrightCrazy Days. Using the calendar for blog post or even article ideas is a great way to
jumpstart your creativity. It's also a fun writing prompt idea.
Calendar days
are also great conversation starters for social media sites like Facebook and
Twitter.

I'll have to clue my husband in on Date Your Mate Month. ;-)

Lost Sock Memorial Day - I love it! We'll have to have a memorial service for the many socks we've lost. We actually lost the mates to two new pairs of socks - not even worn yet!!
ReplyDeleteLove this post idea, Edie! I have to say one of my favorite days will fall on May 15: Chocolate Chip Day. I will be saving my WW points for that celebration. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is fun, Edie. Who knew there was a day to commemorate Lumpy Rugs? And Tiaras? My birthday is on Be a Millionaire day. I guess I can dream, eh? ;) Actually I'm very rich in love, so I'm good with not being rich monetarily.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these!
Some of these are just hilarious, Edie. No socks day comes just before Lost Sock Day. Gotta think about that one. Maybe they should be reversed. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, if I could find directions how to make a lumpy rug out of oddball socks, wouldn't that rock for Lumpy Rug Day and Lost Sock Day? :)
ReplyDeleteLove these, Edie!
I vote for moving National Macaroon Day to May 20--while we're at Blue Ridge, eating the delicious chocolate macaroons! :-)
ReplyDeleteEdie, this is great! I see you have a listing for April, too. Have you done this for other months? How can I get a copy? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteJulie, I started this series with the special dates in March: http://thewriteconversation.blogspot.com/2013/03/its-dateuse-calendar-to-write-brilliant.html
DeleteI'm posting the holidays on the last Thursday of every month. I don't have a complete list, yet. I just do the research for the upcoming month. I'm glad you've found it helpful! Blessings, Edue
