Thursday Review—October Baby

Today I want to break with my normal routine of reviewing things for writers and talk about a movie that impacted my life. OCTOBER BABY. I've been pro life for a while, but up until this movie I had no idea there was anything such thing as an abortion survivor.

This movie made me dig deeper and what I found broke my heart. I encourage you to watch these videos and then do your own research. Just Google abortion survivor...you'll be amazed by what you find.

The movie is now available on DVD. For more information, visit the official website, www.OctoberBabyMovie.net I'd love to know how this movie has impacted you if you've seen it, and how you feel if you disagree with my stand on pro life Blessings, Edie

  1. This opened the same night as THE HUNGER GAMES. I went to see this one. It was preachy in a couple of places, but was the best Christian movie I've seen so far. I cried and cried.

If you want to see the real deal in regards to abortion survivors check out Gianna in Autstalia. Fantastic speaker: http://tinyurl.com/9mfybxv

    1. Sally, I did the same thing—chose this over Hunger Games. But for those who didn't (and there's nothing wrong with that choice!) You can see what all the chatter is about because October Baby is now on DVD. Thanks for stopping by and for the link! Blessings, E

    2. I saw this movie. It mirrored the speaker I heard at Biola University, 20+ years ago. She, too, was an abortion survivor, who had come to forgive her birth mother. The mother was also a survivor. Blew me away.

      What a testimony.

  2. I, too, went to see it opening night in the theater. And I hope to buy it this weekend on DVD. Because it's a movie filled with so much truth about life. I'm not an abortion survivor. I wasn't adopted. But I am a woman who has had an abortion. Every time I see the movie, yet another part stands out. This last time I saw it (last week), the entire conversation with the priest about forgiveness stood out. One of the hardest people to forgive is ourselves. I'll be blogging about that this weekend on Inspire a Fire.
    Thanks for sharing, Edie!

    1. Alycia, thank you for your openness about what you've experienced. I've seen it help so many others as they struggle with their own forgiveness. You're an amazing woman of God and I'm proud to call you friend! Blessings, E

    1. Vonda, I feel the same way. I can't help but feel so blessed to see what is happening in the movie industry and to be able to pray for those who are on the front lines, like Cecil and the Erwin Bros. Blessings, E

  4. This was a great movie. I heard about one woman who survived several abortion attempts by her birth mother. She is very physically handicapped, but now runs a clinic for pregnant teens to help them make better choices. Amazing woman.
