Calendar Days—February's Crazy Holidays & Special Occasions to use for Idea Starters

by Edie Melson @EdieMelson

It's easy to come up dry when searching for blogging and article ideas. To help, I've decided to return to my monthly post on Holidays and Special Occasions.

Now onto some really fun holidays in February!

It's that time again—Calendar Days. I sure hope you all are enjoying this column as much as me. It's funny, as I research these each month, I think of so many of you.
And I can't help but giggle at the holidays that fall on or near the same date, like February 4—Thank a mailman day and Facebook's Birthday—hasn't FB pretty much replaced a lot of messages that used to be sent in an envelope with a stamp? Or what about International Sword Swallowers Day and International Tongue Twister Day on February 22.

Using the calendar for blog post or even article ideas is a great way to jumpstart your creativity. It's also a fun writing prompt idea.

Calendar days are also great conversation starters for social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

  1. Feb. 17th "On My way day and also Random acts of kindness day Put them together. On My Way doing Random Acts of Kindness day. There are so many there. My son will love Nutella day. But every day is Nutella day in our home. ON Feb. 28th we could make a chocolate soufflé for the Tooth Fairy.
All joking aside My blog comes out on Thursdays. Feb. 26th I just may take your good advice, I won't be Inconvenienced by it either.

  5. Who comes up with this stuff? I love it, though. On February 7, I'll get some cards out in the mail, one of them will go to a soldier in Afghanistan and another to a young man who just finished boot camp. While I'm at it, I'll send a card to my BFF who referred me to these two warriors.
