Don't Waste the Autumn

by Edie Melson @EdieMelson

There's just something about fall that calls me outside. I think it's a combination of the cooler days and beautiful palette. What's your favorite part of autumn?

  1. Autumn is the raw beauty of all the colorful things God has done in a year. Brilliant yellows reminds me of the golden opportunities given to me in the year. The oranges shows the warm snuggly moments alone with God that comforted me. The scarlet reds are the reminds of Christ's gifted sacrifice. Burnt browns with crusty edges displays the death sins bring, yet the stoic long lasting greens are visuals of life giving hope before the grays of winter swallow the colors of God meaningful beauty.

  4. Edie, living here in East Tennessee in the shadow of the Great Smoky Mountains, this has always been my favorite season. The colorful leaves are just a given in things to love. Then there's apple harvest and smelling apples cooking in my crockpot. God shows what a masterful artist He really is during this season. When I look at the wonder of it all, it humbles me to think that He would see us as His true masterpieces!

  5. Just came in from eating on my deck where I got to enjoy the cool breeze and watch squirrels chasing each other up trees. I love autumn so much here because I grew up in southern California in the desert where there's no change of the leaves. What a fabulous sight and testament to God's creativity.
