The Art of Seeing—A Writer's Strength

The art of seeing.

At first this concept may seem far removed from the craft of writing. But I think the two are intertwined. The writers who touch me the deepest are those who notice things others do not.

How do you strengthen your visual sense and translate what you see into words?

  1. I am a visual person. God speaks to me through analogies and word pictures. I desire to convey these in writing so that others are blessed too. Who would you suggest as a good"word picture" writer so that I can learn to be a more excellent writer? May I throw that out to the group? Thank you for your continual care and devotion to us through this blog. I am one who truly appreciates it.

  2. Having written from a blind perspective, I have to disagree. Vision is often clouded by what we want to see, instead of delving under the surface of life.

  3. And what I think is so amazing---once we write these invisible things, others say, "Oh, yeah, I feel the same way. I just never thought much about it. Wow. Thanks."
